"At least 41 people, including 31 children, have died and more than 22,000 others have fallen ill since the first week of this month. Of the 22,000 ill people, malaria germ was found in the blood of 3,215 of them," Tripura Health and Family Welfare Minister Badal Choudhury told reporters.

Agartala: Escalating malaria toll continues across Tripura over a month that reached the figure of death to 104 with the demise of three people including two minors in past 24 -hrs.

While government pressed a chopper into service for holding health camps and distribution of medicines in interior locations of the state and brought all medical professionals as well as organizations including NGO into action, opposition Congress demanded to declare it malaria epidemic and host judicial probe into the outbreak.
