The indigenously developed vaccine for the Influenza 'A' H1N1 will be made available in the country from April next year, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad said today.
Speaking to newsmen after inaugurating the upgraded M S Ramaiah Medical Teaching Hospital here, he said scientists had already completed vaccine trials on small animals and were all set for test on bigger animals.
''The clinical trial on human beings will begin from January next year and after completing all the protocols, an Indian version of the vaccine for
H1N1 will be made available in April 2010,'' he said. He said India had adopted a cautious approach in developing the vaccine unlike other developed countries.
