RSUPHAM hospitalized patient suspect bird flu
MEDAN - A resident of Aceh infected with bird flu suspect, MH (15) while being treated at General Hospital Center for Haji Adam Malik (RSUPHAM) Medan.
PR RSUPHAM, Sairi Saragih, said, the MH go into RSUPHAM on Sunday (6 / 3) yesterday. He is suspected of being infected with H5N1 virus because the symptoms like high fever, cough, and shortness of breath. "When you sign in, the temperature is 40 degrees, decreased consciousness, coughing and tightness," he said, this afternoon.
According Sairi, MH suspected bird flu because there are birds that died near his home suddenly. "And when that condition he had a fever," said Sairi.
To ascertain whether the MH positive for bird flu or not, RSUPHAM still doing checks. The medical team have done a photo, and examination of swab samples taken by swab (fluid), nose and throat that was sent to Jakarta for testing.
"Last night we sent to Jakarta. Approximately one week of the new results came back," he explained.
Currently, the condition of MH tend to improve. Body temperature had dropped to 36 degrees Celsius. MH treated at Bird Flu Space, RSUPHAM.
