Child suspected to be infected with swine flu is treated in Pekanbaru Hospital
A child who was presumed to be infected with pig flu (H1N1) was treated in RSUD Arifin Achmad, Pekanbaru.
This child was detected suffering high fever when passing the observer's implement of the temperature of the body in the Sungai Duku Port, Pekanbaru.
"When the child crossed the inspection implement in the port, the implement that was stuck didahi him sounded." Learnt the temperature of his body exceeded 38 levels, said Azizman, the team's member of the control doctor of bird flu and RSUD Arifin Achmad pig flu, on Wednesday (3/6/2009).
Azizman explained, in accordance with the child's procedure afterwards was reconciled to RSUD Arifin Achmad.
At this time the child was 7 years old that underwent the maintenance in normal isolation space was used for the bird flu patient.
The early characteristics of this patient resembled the symptoms of " beginning bird flu " . However because the patient came from Malacca, then was estimated by us the victim was infected from H1N1, said Azizman.
According to Azisman, the medical team has taken the sample of mucus of the patient's throat. This sample will be sent to the Department's laboratory of the RI Health in Jakarta.
The patient's situation has begun to improve compared to when entering the maintenance. Currently the hot temperature of his body descends one derejat. When his condition continued to improve while three days will in front of the patient be returned by us, said Azizman.
