Dalam tiga hari berturut-turut, mulai Jumat (9/6) sampai dengan Minggu (11/6), tiga anak dari satu keluarga meninggal dunia. Diduga, karena di lingkungan sekitarnya pernah terjadi kematian unggas terutama ayam, mereka meninggal karena AI.

"Tapi kami masih terus membuktikan penyebab kematian tiga anak itu. Karena kematian ini sifatnya cluster atau mengelompok dengan riwayat kematian unggas di sekitarnya," kata Ayla Kayrus, Kepala Seksi Pencegahan dan Pengamatan Penyakit Dinas Kesehatan Lampung yang dihubungi per telepon, Selasa (13/6).

Ayla menuturkan, Yudha (4) meninggal pada Jumat (9/6) pukul 09.00 sementara kembarannya Yudhi (4) meninggal pada Sabtu (10/6) pukul 16.00. Keduanya meninggal di rumah mereka di Dusun Pandan Manis, Desa Siring Betik, Kecamatan Wonosobo, Kabupaten Tanggamus. Sementara sang kakak, Misyani (5) meninggal di RS Abdul Moeloek (RSAM) Bandar Lampung, Minggu (11/6) pukul 17.20.

"Karena si kembar meninggal di rumah, tim survailance dari Puskesmas dan Dinas Kesehatan Tanggamus tidak sempat mengambil contoh darah keduanya. Sementara, contoh darah Masyani sempat diambil," kata Ayla.

Kepala Bidang Pelayanan Medis RSAM, Arief Effendi, yang dihubungi terpisah mengatakan menurut cerita orangtua ketiga korban, di lingkungan sekitar rumah sempat terjadi dua kali kematian unggas, tepatnya sekitar dua bulan dan setengah bulan yang lalu. Namun pihak rumah sakit belum bisa memastikan ketiganya meninggal karena flu burung. Hasil sampel darah Masyani bahkan menunjukkan adanya infeksi saluran pernapasan, bukan flu burung.

Dengan terjadinya kasus tersebut, Dinas Kesehatan Lampung tetap melakukan pemantauan dan mengingatkan masyarakat sekitar untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. "Hari ini dinas peternakan provinsi telah menyemprot lokasi kasus dan melakukan investigasi," katanya.

Aren't the chicken deaths too far distant?

I hope it's only the news reporter who thinks that bird flu is not a respiratory infection.

I read it as this.
There were two lots of chicken deaths. The first one was 2 months ago and the second was half way through May.

The first child Yudha (4) died on Friday (9/6) struck 09.00 (i.e. 9.00am)
The second child Yudhi (4) died on Saturday (10/6) struck 16.00. (i.e. 4.00pm)
The third child Masyani (M5) died in RS Abdul Moeloek (RSAM) Banda Lampung, on Sunday (11/6) struck 17.20. (i.e. 5.20pm)
