PALIMANAN - Puskeswan Kaliwedi Unit, Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Agriculture and Forestry
(Distanbunakhut) Cirebon District, found cases of H5N1 viruses or the
better known as bird flu virus in four villages spread over three [sub]districts. Namely Village Ciawi,
Sub Palimanan, Danawinangun Village and Village Pekantingan, District Klangenan and
Kedungsana Village, District Plumbon.

Head of UPT Puskeswan Kaliwedi Suharto said, the spread of the virus was new only from animals
to animals. Of the three districts are yet no victims who tested positive for the virus.

"We will always coordinate with the Department of Health (health office)," he told Radar, yesterday.
So far, said Suharto, who had reported district-related number of dead chickens
Sub Jambul, Gempol, Ciwaringin, Susukan, ARJAWINANGUN and Kaliwedi.
"We hope citizens to report to the village when they discovered that chickens died suddenly, so that
we can do preventive efforts, "he said.

Outbreak report from Cirebon, West Java. H5N1 seems to surge in Cirebon. Officials linked this incident with two suspected human cases, a 41-year-old and deceased 22-year-old.

Other report mentioned H5N1 in Kabupaten Rembang, also in birds.-adm-


Paliaman ? Animal Health Center in Kaliwedi, Kabupaten Cirebon found bird flu H5N1 had been spreading to four villages in three sub-districts, Desa Ciawi, Kecamatan Paliaman, Desa Danawinangun and Desa Pekantingan, Kecamatan Klangenan and Desa Kedungsana, Kecamatan Plumbon.

Head of Animal Health Center Kaliwedi, Suharto said the virus currently transmitted among animals. Until now, no positive case in human found from those three sub-districts.

Meanwhile, Head of Health Service, Rinny R. Sechan confirmed that a resident of Keluarahan Tukmudal, Kecamatan Sumber, named Duramham Suherman (DS) had been treated in isolation unit of Gunung Jati regional hospital because of suspected of contracting bird flu (H5N1) infection.

DS had fever after contact with suddenly dead chickens before been admitted to hospital. Until now officials are still waiting blood test result for bird flu confirmation of DS.

Rembang ? Eight chickens in Kelurahan Magersari, Kecamatan Rembang, died of bird flu attack. Confirmation of chicken samples was done by Agriculture and Forestry Service, Livestock Division of Kabupaten Rembang.

?Test was positive. Fortunately, there was no recurrence case in birds,? said chieftain of Magersari.

Spokesman of Livestock Service of Kabupaten Rembang, Derevmeti Nursiswati, said it was the second case in Kabupaten Rembang until January 2010.

First bird flu case was reported from Desa Sendangmulyo, Kecamatan Gunem, about a week ago before current case.
