In looking at reports of flu activity in Iraq, it's unclear which type of flu is being discussed. Some of the confusion is likely due to translation issues but even the officials making comments seem to refer to the flu cases as both "pandemic and avian".
I thought I'd post this here for discussion and perhaps some clarification, as I'm not comfortable with posting on the main forum that there are H5N1 cases currently in Iraq without some more specific and concrete info.
Is anyone else seeing anything more specific? Or reports of confirmed cases of one or the other?
The articles below are some of the ones that I'm seeing which illustrate the confusion about what exactly is going on.
