Beaumont Hospital in Dublin announces helpline for concerned patients

A hospital has opened a helpline for alarmed patients following a diagnosis of CJD in one of its patients.

A person in Dublin?s Beaumont Hospital has been diagnosed with Creutzfeld-Jakob Disease from contaminated surgical equipment.

And the Health Service Executive (HSE) confirmed assessments are now under way to see if any other patients have been put at risk....

..."While the number of patients potentially affected is low and confined to one area of surgery, Beaumont will have a helpline (1800 302 602) open from 8am to respond to concerned patients."
