Ireland : Swine flu death toll is among lowest in Europe

THE Republic is among a group of European countries with the second lowest rate of deaths from swine flu, according to a new report.

There have been 26 swine-flu deaths here -- 0.6 per 100,000 population -- according to the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.

The report groups the European countries in five bands, according to the number of deaths in each country.
