Irish diocese asks flu victims to stay home

In response to public concerns about the spread of the swin flu, the Ferns diocese in Ireland is asking sick people to stay away from Mass, saying that their presence "constitutes the greatest danger of all in terms of spreading disease." After consulting with health officials, diocesan leaders said that they would not call for suspension of the Sign of Peace during the Eucharistic liturgy, nor for an end to the practice of receiving Communion under both species. On those questions, the diocese only suggested " that all church ministers be conscious of the need for increased hygiene at the present time." However the diocesan announcement stated in clear terms: "The diocese now asks persons with symptoms of flu not to participate in Church services during their illness."

I know from highly sources that the Catholic Primat of all countries will come out with guidance pretty soon.

Having been deeply involved in InterFaith Prayers for Peace, Franciscans are now going around to each Religions to get followers od Religions to understand what must be done.

We are very pro-active on this and it should reach a large numbers of people.

I personnally have been confirmed about measures for 7 religions here in Quebec.

It was expected and will reduce morbidity and mortality.
