Epidemiological Situation

In September-October 2012, H5N2 outbreaks occurred in both
industrial and rural poultry sectors.

3 outbreaks were identified in commercial sector (see previous
SCoFCAH presentation)

Sanitary measures provided by Italian Ministry of Health were:

- Pre-moving controls of animal from industrial farms
- Ban of restocking of industrial farms in DPPA
- Sanitary controls of commercial holdings

Prohibition of fairs, markets, shows or other gatherings of
poultry or other captive birds in northern Italy.

From the 2nd ofOctober utill the 30th of November
5 more outbreaks of LPAI H5 subtype were detected.
