tetano

Editor, Senior Moderator
Versilia, 4 April 2023 - A case of avian flu has beendetected by the North West Tuscany health authority in a rural farm in Pietrasanta.

The 'red zone'

According to the Department of Prevention - Homogeneous Area of Food Safety and Veterinary Public Health of the ASL, the case identified was most likely caused by migratory birds. The protocolfor containing the spread of the virus has therefore been implemented: a protection zone with a radius of three kilometers and a surveillance zone with a radius of 10 kilometers from the breeding site of the infection have been established in the area around the farm . All or part ofViareggio and all the municipalities of Versilia (Massarosa, Camaiore, Pietrasanta, Seravezza, Stazzema and Forte dei Marmi) and a small part of the municipality of Montignoso (Massa Carrara) fall within the surveillance area.
