Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza H7N7, fifth poultry outbreak confirmed

It?s the fifth outbreak detected in the Region. 98,000 chickens to be culled.

Another birdflu outbreak has been detected, the fifth in the Region, in a poultry farm at Mordano, two Km from the premises firstly affected, and where around 700,000 layer hens have been destroyed. The premise is owned by ??Eurovo?? company.

The former premise was earlier authorized by the Ministry of Health to cull around 98,000 chickens (to be started on Thursday this week), before today confirmation of laboratory tests for an avian influenza virus infection.

The poultry farm is owned by the same company of the previous affected premises.
