Snow forecast for central Tokyo

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- The weather agency warned Tuesday that it may snow in Tokyo and its surrounding areas between early morning and early afternoon Wednesday, and that some accumulation may be seen in central Tokyo, advising caution when using public transportation.

Heavy snow affects wide areas in eastern Japan

TOKYO (Kyodo) -- A low-pressure system brought heavy snow to a wide region, encompassing the greater Tokyo area, as well as Yamanashi and Nagano prefectures in central Japan from early Wednesday morning.
