Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever detected in Atyrau region

Atyrau. August 26. KazTAG – Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) has been diagnosed in a female resident of the Isatay District of the Atyrau Region, reports Ak Zhaik.
“A PCR test confirmed the diagnosis. The Health Department of the Atyrau Region reported that the woman’s condition is stable, with positive dynamics observed,” reads the report.
According to the publication, the patient was hospitalized on August 12 with symptoms of the disease. A second family member, hospitalized on July 16, remains in the regional infectious diseases hospital. His PCR test for CCHF returned negative. The patient remains under medical observation in stable condition with positive dynamics.
Contact persons have been placed under observation, and no symptoms have been detected among them. Ticks and samples from domestic and farm animals were also collected in the district, with laboratory tests returning negative results...
