Bacterial dysentery cases reported

KOZHIKODE: A few cases of Shigellosis, a bacterial dysentery, including one death, were reported from some parts of the district recently.
District Medical Officer (DMO) P.K. Mohanan told The Hindu that eight children and six adults were infected, including four children, from the same family. They were hospitalised with vomiting, diarrhoea and fever. Except two children, the patients are in a much better condition now, the DMO said.
Dr. Mohanan said contaminated water or food was the source of the illness. ...
