Bring children to immunise against measles, urges President
(KPL) The President Choummaly Sayasone urged all social strata nationwide to bring children age between nine months to 15 years old to immunise against measles disease that will be scheduled from 12 to 18 November.
In addition, the children age from six months to five years old will also take Vitamin A and children age from one year old to five years old will take anti-parasite tablets, according to President?s statement for the upcoming of National Immunisation Day issued last Friday.
?We have mobilised poverty eradication movement and diseases eradication movement bases on the mobilisation of International Medical Organisation has done worldwide,? the statement said.
Some diseases in the country has been eradicated successfully thanks to an active of public health sector, the attentions of Party Executive Board and the participation of local authorities all levels and people as well as the assistance from friendly countries.
?Today we continue to implement a national plan for eradicating epidemic diseases in order to create a condition for eradicating measles disease by 2012,? President added.
On behalf of Party and State leaders, ?I would like inform all social strata, we will organise National Immunisation Day for Getting Rid of Measles between 12 to 18 November?.
On this occasion, the authorities all levels nationwide should prepare for National Immunisation Day by focussing on mobilising people to bring their children to get vaccine which plans to reach up to 95 per cent, he called for. :tiphat:
