BOSTON -- Health officials in Canton have confirmed a case of the measles in an employee at Reebok.

Officials confirmed one case and said they were testing for a possible second case after the town was notified Friday.

The company is offering vaccines to employees, according to Canton Director of Public Health John Ciccotelli.

Hundreds of people work at the company's world headquarters is located on JW Foster Boulevard in Canton...

Reebok inoculates workers after at least 1 gets measles

Public health nurses gave measles shots to hundreds of workers yesterday at the Canton corporate headquarters of Reebok after an employee was diagnosed with the highly transmissible viral disease, health officials said.

A second Reebok worker is suspected of having the illness, and laboratory tests are being performed to confirm the diagnosis, said John Ciccotelli, Canton’s public health director.


“It’s in everyone’s interest that this doesn’t spread,’’ he said. “We just want to keep these cases contained...’’

Case of measles worries Canton residents

CANTON, Mass. -- A case of the measles was diagnosed in an employee at the Reebok headquarters in Canton.

"Apparently the individual who contracted the disease had been travelling overseas, and we don't know where he was travelling to, but we have to assume it was in some country where measles was endemic and came back and came down with it and unfortunately he was shedding the virus when he went to work," said John Ciccotelli, the director of the Canton Board of Health.

Health officials are now waiting for tests results for a possible second case of the contagious illness...
