This article is over two weeks old, but I figured I'd post it for completeness. I believe it has made the error of putting all the fatalities in the village of Warud, which is incorrect.

Amravati, Sep 7 (PTI) A mysterious viral fever has reportedly claimed 18 lives in Warud tehsil of the district in the last three weeks, sources said.Doctors said blood samples of 25 to 30 patients had been sent to a laboratory in Pune and the diagnosis of the illness will be clear after report was received.Local MLA Anil Bonde said he had called a group of doctors from other areas to check and treat the patients.Bonde has arranged Rs 1 lakh to to provide medicine and other services to the patients.Health Department has assured to provide Rs 20 lakh to the Warud Hospital, the sources said.

Another confirmed fatality from the region:

There were four other confirmed H1N1 deaths in Nagpur hospitals reported today. Two, on Sep 16, 17 were from Nagpur and Madhya Pradesh respectively, the other two Sep 20 and 22 did not have a point of origin recorded.

Amravati: Zilla parishad president on Friday issued directives to place block development officers (BDOs) under suspension as the administration has failed to take a serious note of the deaths of more than 40 persons due to viral flu in Warud tehsil. The officials are also accused of being apathetic towards ensuring hygienic conditions in the city and submitting fake work reports to the ZP chief.

I would not trust the figure 40 fatalities in Warud tehsil from this source. In an earlier commentary, he was including fatalities from Gondia district as part of his total.
