Two More Deaths Due To Dengue Recorded In Johor

JOHOR BAHARU, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Two more deaths due to dengue were reported in the state as at Aug 15, bringing the total to 23.

Johor Health and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said the increase in the death toll recorded so far this year, from only 18 last year, was indeed very worrying...

Selangor holds the highest number for dengue cases

PUTRAJAYA: The number of dengue cases continues to soar with a total of 8,246 dengue cases and 212 deaths recorded nationwide from the period of January 4 until Aug 11, the Health Ministry?s iDengue website stated.

Based on statistic provided by the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), the website showed from the number of cases recorded with Selangor leading the charts by being the highest contributor with 43,555 cases recorded during the period.

This was followed by Johor (8,579), Perak (6,920), Kuala Lumpur (4,908), Penang (3,453) and Sabah (1,752) cases the statistic showed...

GEORGE TOWN: Although the number of dengue cases has dropped in several states in the 32nd week of the year, there were still 11 deaths reported, bringing total death rate to 212 as of Aug 15.

Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said they have also recorded 75,795 cases between January 1 and August 15.

He said they have also identified 994 aedes hotspots between Aug 9 and Aug 15 in 12 states, namely 599 in Selangor, 233 (Johor), 41 (Perak), 32 (Kelantan), 19 (Penang), 18 (Malacca), 17 (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya) and 11 in Negri Sembilan.

Country?s dengue fever cases, death on the rise

A total of 80,654 dengue fever cases were recorded nationwide from January to August compared to 65,672 cases during the corresponding period last year, said Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya. He said the number of fatalities also rose from 128 to 219.

50% rise in dengue deaths


PETALING JAYA: The number of dengue cases last year paints a scary picture. There was a more than 50% jump in the number of deaths caused by dengue compared to 2014.

This, according to the Health Ministry, was the highest number of dengue deaths ever recorded in the country.

According to the ministry, 336 people ? an average of 28 a month ? died from dengue last year compared to 215 in 2014, a rise of 56.3%.

There was also an increase of 11.2% in the number of dengue cases throughout last year, up from 108,698 in 2014 to 120,836 cases...
