Black areas on the map are undefined; this means that computer extrapolations for these areas are completely unreliable. The higher death rates in the <st1:state w:st="on">Northwest Territories</st1:state>, <st1lacename w:st="on">Nunavit</st1lacename> <st1lacetype w:st="on">Territory</st1lacetype>, and <st1:state w:st="on">Yukon Territory</st1:state> are statistically insignificant because of the low population densities in these <st1lace w:st="on"><st1lacename w:st="on">Canadian</st1lacename> <st1lacetype w:st="on">Territories</st1lacetype></st1lace>. The high rates projected for the fringes of the Nunavit territory are an aberration of the kriging algorithms and are not reliable. However, the higher death rate depicted for <st1:state w:st="on">Newfoundland</st1:state> and <st1lace w:st="on">Labrador</st1lace> is represented in the data.
