Thanks Giuseppe.

This is a bit confusing.

The count of 82 is an additional 4 cases from this morning but there are only 3 mentioned by age on the text.

So I have changed the title of the thread to "3 or 4"....

Mike Coston has a snap of the count earlier today on the Saudi MoH site:

KSA MOH: 2 New MERS-CoV Cases & Fatality In Earlier Case

Now they have 82 so that is 4 more with no information on the 4th person at all.

:(

Is this an I.Q. test? To see if we can catch this stuff?

Reporting tools are only as good as the user! LOL

....Hopefully, once updated..the English MOH mirrored site will hold better translation!

Re: MERS-CoV, Saudi Arabia: 3 or 4 new confirmed cases, one new death: 82 cases, 41 deaths so far (Health Min., August 22 2013)

The new reports of cases from KSA yesterday are two new confirmed cases in Asir region and a death of what they term is a previously reported 51yo male in Riyadh. So that's +2 cases, +1 death. I also picked up the additional 2 cases reported by KSA MOH in their tally....but their tally has been +1 death then what I have recorded since early this week. So confusing.....

Lack of transparency, late notifications to intl health agencies, censorship: all these things are detrimental for clarity, and eventually to protect public health. But nobody care...

Re: MERS-CoV, Saudi Arabia: 3 or 4 new confirmed cases, one new death: 82 cases, 41 deaths so far (Health Min., August 22 2013)

Possible clarification/hypothesis of case 103

"Moreover, the Ministry of Health has announced the death of a 54 year-old citizen with chronic diseases; who had been previously announced to be infected with this virus- May Allah have mercy upon him."

This MOH English translation quote of 54 year old being "previously announced" was confusing! Most likely a reporting variance because not one case throughout the outbreak has been reported as a 54 year old!

This likely is the global cumulative case 100 or KSA # 79 with the next 3 cases reported being 101(#80) ,102 (#81),103 (#82) giving a total for 82 and globally 103.

If I'm wrong and there is a previously unknown reported 54 year old please disregard!
