More chicken pox cases being reported in the area

COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) - The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says seven cases of chickenpox have been reported to the health department?s St. Joseph County office this past week.
This follows the seven confirmed Hillsdale County cases in January that were reported by the Michigan Disease Surveillance System.

COLDWATER ? A second, smaller outbreak of chicken pox has hit another St. Joseph County school ? this time in White Pigeon.
?We have three confirmed cases, but we have a lot of kids there who are not up-to-date? on vaccinations who are facing a 21-day exclusion, according to Kim Wilhelm, prevention services director for the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.

BAY CITY, MI ? The Bay County Health Department has confirmed two cases of chickenpox at Bay City Central High School and is working to ensure the virus doesn't spread.
The agency is working with the school, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and parents of students at the school who have been reported as not vaccinated, under-vaccinated, or are at risk of contracting the virus.
