Child dies from apparent bacterial infection
GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Kent County Health Department is working with the County Medical Examiner in the death of a 2-year-old girl Wednesday.

Officials at the Health Department say that the symptoms suffered by the girl and preliminary tests indicate the cause of death may have been a bacterial infection. Final results may not be available for several days. The girl and her family live in the Sparta area...

...Health department officials also tell WZZM that the infection is not meningitis, but may be related to a blood infection that was secondary to another infection, like pneumonia.
