Chickenpox outbreak hits Waseca schools

WASECA ? Letters went out Thursday alerting parents to a chickenpox outbreak at Central Intermediate School and TEAM Academy.
Waseca School District nurse Deb Wobschall reported six cases of chickenpox to the Minnesota Department of Health Thursday morning and then prepared letters she sent home with students at the end of the day.
She said it is the first time in 10 years that the school district reached the threshold number of five cases that mandate a school?s report of an illness to the state.
