Как сообщили в Министерстве здравоохранения, девочка была госпитализирована 13 января в Дрокиевскую районную больницу с диагнозом "двусторонняя пневмония" и подозрением на грипп A(H1N1).​

According to the Ministry of Health, was hospitalized on 13 January Drochia local hospital and diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia and suspected of having influenza A (H1N1).

Она скончалась от тяжелых осложнений.​

По данным Минздрава, 19 января в Молдове был лабораторно подтвержден один случай пандемического гриппа, а с 1 по 20 января подтверждено 69 случаев из 348 случаев с подозрением на вирус.​
