In brief, this is an antibody IV infusion that attaches to amyloid plaques, which are then attacked and degraded. It seems quite effective, but less so at reducing cognitive impairment, but is not very well tolerated. It is likely to be prohibitively expensive, as it will probably need to be started early and taken every two weeks indefinitely. It is however something for a serious problem with no other treatments and could be a game changer if a low cost oral equivalent could be produced.
