Five more contract swine flu

KATHMANDU, July 14: Five more patients have been confirmed to be infected with the pandemic H1N1 2009 virus, otherwise known as swine flu, Monday evening taking the tally of infected to 14.
?A 30 year-old Nepali male, who has never been abroad and don?t have anyone in close relation infected, is the most serious case among the 14 infected in Nepal. He is critical and is in mechanical ventilator,? said deputy head of the Avian Influenza Control Project Dr Jitendra Man Shrestha.
Other four to have been confirmed Monday are a Nepali male, 29, returning from California, 21-year-old male relative of a previously infected Nepali returning from Australia, 10-year-old male returning from Virginia and a 45-year-old Australian.
Dr Shrestha said that the Australian has gone out of the country while other 12 infected have stopped showing symptoms of the disease after treatment. ?We are treating another two suspected patients but their test results are yet to be confirmed,? Dr Shrestha added.
