Netherlands: Swine flu at school in North Brabant

The patient treated in ICU with the Swine flu is in

stable condition. The RIVM said he is a young man .

He is in the hospital in isolation with a pneumonia .

Further details are not revealed by the RIVM.

A total of 51 cases of the Swine flu are confirmed now in the Netherlands.

I was wondering what the public response in NL is concerning swine flu. I just spoke with my husband who is in Den Haag visiting and he says that there is hardly anything in the news and the general public is not really aware. He compared people's responses to those in the US, whom he claimed "weren't worried at all." How is the media and govenment there coverning this?

Your husband is right: in general the public hardly knows what is going on.

There is a little more coverage lately, also in the regional press, because more cases are popping up.

the condition of the patient in ICU is worsening, according to a doctor of RIVM: "he is doing bad".
