In four additional cases of bird flu in Baden-Wuerttemberg, the Friedrich Loeffler Institute of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has now found the aggressive 'Asia' strain of virus. That puts the number of birds across the state infected with this dangerous strain at sixteen. According to Baden-Wuerttemberg's Agriculture Ministry, the affected birds are wild ducks from Meersburg, Ueberlingen, Sigmaringen, and Sigmaringendorf. The number of cases of H5N1 in the state stands unchanged at nineteen.

Meersburg & Ueberlingen are on the shores of the large Bodensee Lake - to the northeast of Zurich. Sigmaringen and Sigmaringendorf are not too far north of the Lake. Map of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
