School on alert after teacher contracts tuberculosis

Health officials are warning a West Auckland school community to remain vigilant after a confirmed case of tuberculosis.
ONE News understands a male teacher from Liston College at Henderson is receiving treatment in hospital for the contagious and potentially fatal disease.
The teacher from the Catholic boys' school has been in Auckland hospital since Friday with tuberculosis.

Students identified as at risk were sent home with consent forms, allowing them to be tested.
But it could be two months before officials know if the disease has spread.
