Londonderry schools on guard after student diagnosed with whooping cough

LONDONDERRY - Parents are being advised to monitor their preteens over the next few weeks following a Londonderry Middle School student's positive diagnosis of whooping cough this week.
The school nurse sent the unidentified student home early Wednesday morning, according to Principal Richard Zacchilli. The ailing student later tested positive for pertussis, more commonly known as whooping cough.
