Iran's Veterinary Organization chief says that no acute 'bird flu' sample has been registered in Mazandaran, northern Iran, so far.
"Iran has taken serious steps to prevent the bird flu outbreak," Veterinary Organization chief Mojtaba Norouzi said.
Iran's vet chief has shed light on the importance of education for preventing H5N1 virus infection, a virus which causes illness or eventual death.
Iran has scheduled a special program to train the medics and veterinarians and those who are in direct contact with the illness. The program which is an attempt to harness the disease also includes courses for public education.
Majority of Iranian cities are equipped with PRT- PCR laboratories used to diagnose the fatal respiratory disease.
