Chickenpox is "ripping through" children in Bluff.
Up to 20 children at the 150-pupil Bluff School have had chickenpox in recent weeks and children at the town's kindergarten have also contracted the illness.
Bluff School principal Alison Cook said chickenpox was ripping through the school.
"Once a sibling gets it the others tend to get it ... It seems to knock out families."
Bluff Kindergarten head teacher Helen Jackson said chickenpox had also hit the kindergarten, but she declined to give numbers.
Bluff was a small community and most of the children knew each other so chickenpox passed through easily, she said.
Children at St Teresa's School in Bluff had escaped chickenpox so far, a spokeswoman said...
