Benton County confirms pertussis outbreak at local schools

Benton County Health Department officials said Wednesday that Linus Pauling Middle School and Crescent Valley High School have new confirmed cases of pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough.

Bill Emminger, a manager of environmental health with the Benton County Health Department, said there also were confirmed cases in Philomath schools.

Corvallis School District sent out alerts about the outbreak Friday.

Pertussis also broke out in Benton County schools in November...

4 cases of whooping cough at Eugene school

EUGENE, Ore. - Four students at a K-8 charter school in Eugene tested positive last week for pertussis, also known as whooping cough.

The executive director of the Village School confirmed they had notified parents last week about the cases.

Of the students, 2 were vaccinated against pertussis; 2 others were not, according to the school's executive director...

The Grant County Health Department reports three cases of whooping cough in the community.
JOHN DAY ? The Grant County Health Department reports there are three confirmed cases of pertussis (whooping cough) in the county this month.
In addition to the three cases, a number of other families with symptoms are being treated for whooping cough while awaiting test results...

Whooping Cough Outbreak Continues In The Dalles

Health officials continue to tackle a whooping cough outbreak in The Dalles that?s been running since the end of last month.

Public health authorities in The Dalles are recommending people get vaccinated for whooping cough.

So far, The Dalles has seen 16 cases and local public health authorities are urging people to get vaccinated...
