I'm wondering if we, as a population, have lost herd immunization due to large numbers of unvaccinated children, many of whom are now reaching adulthood? IMHO there are very good reasons to get children vaccinated. My own have up to date vaccinations. - AC

At Shippensburg Urgent Care Center, 46 Walnut Bottom Road, Shippensburg, from 6:45 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26.? At Walmart, 100 S. Conestoga Drive, Shippensburg, from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Jan. 24.
At Chambersburg Hospital Emergency Department, 112 N. Seventh St., Chambersburg, from 7:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27.

I don't think measles vaccination rates have dropped enough to explain what's happening. It's likely that measles virus is evolving in response to vaccination. It could be that there are more asymptomatic carriers now, both vaccinated and unvaccinated. At least so far the fully vaccinated don't seem to be getting sick, so it would seem a new vaccine isn't needed yet.
