KARACHI: Twenty-nine more dengue fever cases were reported in Karachi this week, taking the reported cases toll to 76 in the city since January 1st, 2018.

According to the weekly report issued by Sindh Prevention and Control Program for Dengue, as many as 29 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the city from January 16 to January 18, 2018. A total of 79 cases have been reported throughout Sindh province of which 76 were in Karachi alone...

KARACHI: As many as 18 more dengue fever cases were detected across the city in a week, taking the reported toll to 155 in the city since January 1, 2018.

As per a weekly report issued by Sindh Prevention and Control Program for Dengue, at least 18 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the city from February 19 to February 26, 2018.

A total of 163 cases have been reported throughout Sindh province of which 155 were reported in Karachi alone, and eight from rest of province. No death was reported from dengue this month so far...

KARACHI: Twelve more dengue fever cases were reported in different hospitals of Karachi this week, taking the toll to 167 in the city since January 1, 2018.

According to the weekly report issued by Sindh Prevention and Control Program, about 12 new dengue fever cases surfaced across the city from February 27 to March 05, 2018.

A total of 176 cases have been reported throughout Sindh province of which 167 reported in Karachi alone, and nine from rest of province. No death has yet been reported from dengue this year so far...

KARACHI: The first death of 2018 from dengue in Karachi was reported at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Tuesday night where an 80-year-old woman succumbed to the deadly virus.

The deceased, Akraman Mai, was a resident of Surjani Town. She was admitted to JPMC a few days ago where she was diagnosed with dengue.

According to JPMC Executive Director Dr Seemin Jamali, the elderly woman was suffering from multiple diseases. However, she died of complications resulting from dengue.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2018 ) :Atleast 36 suspected patients and 100 hotspots have been reported in the capital since the dengue surveillance campaign has started after March 15.

Talking to APP, In charge Dengue Control Cell (DCC) Islamabad, Dr Muhammad Najeeb Durrani said that nine dengue patrolling teams comprising of five members each were active in the field during the dengue surveillance campaign.

He informed that the suspected dengue patients are admitted in Holy Family Hospital and Benazir Bhutto Hospital for treatment. To a question, he said no dengue larva were found in any area during the surveillance campaign while the DCC is closely monitoring the situation to amicably deal with any serious situation...

Over a 100 daily wagers, hired by the district government for the anti-dengue drive, carried out a protest against the non-payment of salaries and the sacking of trained workers. The demonstration entered its sixth consecutive day outside the General Health Director?s office on Monday.

The men and women held a sit in and demanded their jobs be made permanent, while also asking for conveyance and risk allowance.

Reinstate the trained dengue workers and make their jobs permanent. Do not deny us our livelihood, the workers demanded...

Health department urged to control fever outbreak
Three dengue suspects admitted

Rawalpindi - The outbreak of dengue fever has been spreading in areas of Ratta Amral and Waris Khan with no action on part of health department to control the menace.

A total of 89 dengue suspected patients have landed in Special Dengue Ward of District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Raja Bazaar. Of 89, majority of the patients belong to Ratta Amral and Waris Khan, sources added.

Three dengue suspects, identified as Ikram Ullah (17), Mukhtar Ahmed (43) and Naek Alam (23), were brought to DHQ on Monday from Waris Khan, Ratta Armal and New Chakra, sources informed...

Karachi - As many as 19 more dengue fever cases were detected throughout the Karachi in a week, taking the reported cases toll to 538 in the city since January 1, 2018.

According to the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, at least 19 new dengue fever cases were reported across Karachi in a week. No new case was surfaced from other districts last week. In July, a total 19 dengue positive cases were detected throughout the city so far.

This year, a total 572 dengue cases were surfaced across Sindh province out of them 538 in Karachi and 34 from rest of province.

A death was also reported due to dengue in Karachi this year so far...

Four more dengue cases surface in Peshawar

PESHAWAR:
Four people have contracted the dengue virus in Peshawar on Tuesday which has prompting healthcare authorities to declare a possible outbreak alert.

The Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) reported a dengue case from Achini Union Council on the outskirts of Peshawar.

After the case was dealt with, officials involved in Dengue Control Programme left for the village for carry out a field survey.

Upon reaching the area they found three more residents had tested positive for the deadly virus.

?In the door-to-door detection survey, 10 houses were detected with larvae,? a senior health official told The Express Tribune.

The official said that apart from the initial patient to contract the dengue virus, the rest are in a stable condition and have not been hospitalised so far...

Dengue on the rise in Lahore

Despite taking the same preventive measures for the elimination of dengue as the previous government and concerned departments did, the situation is worst in the districts of Lahore division except for the provincial metropolis.

In 2018, as many as 15,437 dengue cases had been detected and eradicated so far, including 428 in Lahore city. According to statistics, 14,909 larvae were found in Kasur, Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib which were ignored by the concerned departments.

According to details, the dengue surveillance teams have visited 831,000 places and lodged 78 cases in different police stations over not taking preventive measures, despite of handing out warnings to them, from January 2018 up until now...

Two dengue cases reported in Swabi

SWABI: The first two cases of the dengue fever were reported Monday from the two different areas of the Swabi district and confirmed by Health Department officials as well.

When contacted District Health Officer told this correspondent that the patients were admitted at the Bacha Khan Medical Complex Shahmansoor (BKMCS) where an isolated ward had been established for such patients.

However, he said the symptoms of the two patients, who are not locals, and the investigations conducted by them revealed that they had recently returned from one of the localities in Karachi city...

KARACHI: Nineteen more dengue fever cases were detected across Karachi in a week, taking the reported cases toll to 669 in the city since 1st January 2018. According to the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, at least 20 new dengue fever cases emerged throughout Sindh province out of which 19 were in Karachi and one in other district of the province in a week.

In August, 39 dengue positive cases were detected across the province out of them, 38 were in Karachi and one fin other district of the province. This year, a total of 710 dengue cases surfaced across the province out of them, 669 happened in Karachi and 41 in rest of Sindh...

First confirmed cases of dengue fever from federal capital

Islamabad: As many as two patients have been tested positive for dengue fever from the federal capital being the first confirmed cases of the infection this year from Islamabad though both the patients were tested positive at one of the three teaching hospitals in Rawalpindi, Holy Family Hospital. Data collected by ?The News? on Sunday has revealed that one of the two first patients of dengue fever reported from Islamabad this year is a resident of G-6/3 while the other, a traffic constable is a resident of Tehsil Gujar Khan though working here in I-8/1.

According to health experts, the appearance of the first two cases of dengue fever from the federal capital ahead of the setting in of peak season for transmission of dengue fever in this region of the country is alarming...

35 cases of dengue fever reported in ICT: NA told

State Minister for Interior Shehryar Afridi on Wednesday informed National Assembly that about 35 cases of dengue fever had been reported in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) till date. The minister said this while responding to a calling attention notice regarding expected outbreak of dengue fever in Islamabad Capital Territory.
He said that during last year about 103 cases of dengue fever were reported in the federal capital. The minister said that peak time of the dengue fever in the country is from October to mid of November. Afridi said that after the mid of November, the dengue fever start declining...
