10:32 The National Immunization Council issued a recommendation to Jalisco and Nuevo Leon to the spread of pertussis in the country, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in Jalisco provisionally amended the vaccination schedule for children under one year.
The borough of Public Health Coordinator, Guadalupe Gutierrez Guerrero explained that vaccines: acellular pentavalent vaccine, and pneumococcal conjugate vaccine against rotavirus, shall apply in the sixth week of birth, instead of waiting two months to comply.
The scheme envisages provision of three doses, so that after the first application will apply the second booster after three months (previously the four) and the third reinforcement would be four months (previously six months) .
Thus the implementation of the amended scheme, including reinforcements, culminating in four months, not six as is established by the national vaccination card, the official confirmed.
He stressed that this measure will be established only during the period that Jalisco is kept alert by the increase in pertussis cases in the country, then apply the traditional scheme is promoted on the undercard to less than one year.
He noted that so far this year, the IMSS Jalisco capt'p four cases of the disease without any deaths. He said that in 2008 the record was of three cases.
