Yellow alert was declared in the Piura region due to increasing cases of dengue in the future could be a risk of epidemic, reported the Regional Directorate of Piura (Diresa).
"Piura is a risk area due to weather conditions and the arrival of summer with no greater appearance of mosquitoes, also due to high migration of people coming to our shores can become importers of the vector from the jungle," said Diresa holder, Luis Saavedra.
The yellow alert means that the staff of health facilities to cater watch free of charge to all patients with symptoms of dengue, 24 hours a day.
Also, each facility will strengthen surveillance and ensure proper care and timely case in its different manifestations.
Saavedra said that EsSalud made a commitment to give 60 beds and the Military Hospital and Santa Rosa hospital have pledged their support.
As for the regional government, the budget will ensure optimal development of all prevention and control of dengue.
