Zamboanga implements mass vaccination as diphtheria cases spike

The Zamboanga City Health Office said Saturday it will conduct mass vaccination in several barangays following the increase in the number of diphtheria cases.

Dr. Rodel Agbulos, city health officer, has confirmed that a two-year-old patient has died of diphtheria. The child's two siblings have also been found positive with the bacterial disease.

Dr. Eric Tayag, spokesman of the Department of Health, said that they have started the contact tracing of diphtheria cases in the city...
