CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines -- Health authorities in Samar have gone on full alert after the deaths on Monday of two persons, including a six-month old baby, from suspected meningococcemia.
?We have two deaths from suspected cases of meningococcemia pending laboratory confirmation,? Catbalogan City health officer Dr. Gerarda Tizon said in an advisory as she urged the public to take extra precautions and send children with symptoms of the bacterial disease to the hospital as soon as possible.
