Poland confirms 2 further cases of a new influenza

Chief Sanitary Inspector Spokesman John Bondar said that the A/H1N1 virus was detected in a 21-year old woman and her 3-year old daughter. Both were infected in the country by the boy who returned from Canada.
Patients were placed under the supervision of health services, and therefore quickly received aid. Mother and daughter are in a hospital for infectious diseases in Czestochowa.
John Bondar added that in severe but stable condition remains the 8-year old girl who is staying in the Intensive Care ward at Children's Hospital in Warsaw. The patient is a U.S. citizen of Polish origin who arrived in Warsaw on June 26 from Atlanta.
In Poland, the new flu virus AH1N1 has made 27 people sick so far.
