The patient had been hospitalized since September 14 in the Intensive Care Unit of that hospital and is the second fatal case caused by infection with the H1N1 virus.
The September 26 was known the death of a man of 49 years in the Hospital Curry Cabral, Lisbon, also a victim of pneumonia caused by the same virus.

Os primeiros lotes da vacina contra a Gripe A chegam a Portugal a partir do pr?ximo dia 20. A entrega da primeira remessa estava prevista para segunda-feira, mas acabou por ser adiada. O Minist?rio da Sa?de espera dar in?cio ? campanha de vacina??o a 26 de Outubro.
"Aquilo que eu disse sobre as vacinas da gripe foi que estas iriam come?ar a chegar a Portugal e que estariam dispon?veis a partir do dia 12 de Outubro. resulting from infection by the new variant of flu virus was confirmed this

The second victim of the deadly virus of H1N1 Influenza A in Portuguese territory
was in the hospital since September 14 in Care Unit
Intensive Hospital de S?o Jo?o, Porto. The 53 year old man was not suffering from
any underlying disease.
The last case of death related to infection by the H1N1 virus had been revealed to
September 26. In Curry Cabral Hospital, Lisbon, a man of 49 years died,
then the pneumonia.
Few days before, a man admitted to the Hospital of St. Anthony, also
infected with Influenza A, succumbed to a bacterial infection and an abdominal
pneumonia. Health officials explained, however, that the patient died
result of a bacterial infection and not because of the H1N1 virus.
Minister of Health excludes delays in vaccines
The first lots of flu vaccine to arrive in Portugal from the next
20 days. The delivery of the first shipment was scheduled for Monday, but
eventually postponed. The Ministry of Health expects to begin marketing
vaccination to 26 October.
"What I said about flu vaccines is that they would begin to arrive
Portugal and would be available from 12th October. But that
Portugal would have those at that time, only later would receive for reasons
logistical and only after the first two weeks of their production would reach is that
time to start vaccination in 26 days ", said on Saturday the Minister
guardianship, Ana Jorge, after a meeting at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, dedicated to
"Mental Health in Primary Care."
The health minister also assured that "no delay" in delivering lots of

"Specialization and the specificity of their duties, are seen as
"hard to replace"; pregnant women in the second and third quarters of
pregnancy and associated with serious diseases; professionals to ensure
"core activities" in areas such as distribution of gas and electricity, the
communications, sanitation, security and media.
Faced with the direct impact of Influenza A in State costs, amounting to
67.5 million euros (45 million euros for the purchase of vaccines and 22.5
million spent since 2007 on the purchase of anti-viral Tamiflu to Roche), Minister
Health claimed to be "premature to comment".
"We're still very early stage of the epidemic in Portugal. We do not know what
will happen, because the entry of the vaccines now could modify the
behavior of the epidemic, "he said Ana Jorge.
