Pregnant woman suspected to have died of the flu
2011-02-02
The pregnant woman was treated for swine flu, was sent home and died two days later. The same hospital now accused of having been sent home another pregnant woman who later became seriously ill.
It was last Friday that the 41-year-old woman's girlfriend raised the alarm after she began cramping.
The woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Helsingborg, where she died, says Helsingborgs Dagblad.
Police in Helsingborg, has now made a complaint about the incident in order to send a woman's body on the forensic investigation, and thus find out what she died of.
The woman's girlfriend has told police that the woman was being treated for swine flu at Helsingborg hospital until Wednesday before his death, but that she then sent home.
Hospital management would not comment on the newspaper's death, or confirm that the woman received treatment for swine flu.
A few weeks ago the same paper reported a case where a 24-year-old pregnant woman who sought help for the swine flu say they sent home from the hospital's medical emergency. The woman's condition then deteriorated and she has been kept on a respirator.
