The Regional Health Authority ( Diresa ) reported that Puno was raised to 31 the death toll from pneumonia , after a less than five years recently lost his life because of this disease.
Fredy Passara Zevallos, head of the Office of Epidemiology Diresa, said that 18 deaths have been reported by the disease in San Roman, five in Azangaro, three in Carabaya, and in the provinces of Puno, Chucuito, El Callao, Lampa and Melgar.
He reported that to date have been attended by 56.312 cases Acute Respiratory Infections ( ARI ) and 886 for pneumonia due to low temperatures recorded in the region.
