Schools are again some of the places where there are cases of influenza A/H1N1 in San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa, the worst affected areas.
Although the figures due to the pandemic had been reduced since November last year, health authorities have reported fears of a resurgence of the disease.
Statistics show that nationally there are 38 confirmed cases and of these, six belong to San Pedro Sula, one of Lima, one to Santa Cruz de Yojoa and the rest are divided into different parts of the country.
Of the six cases of San Pedro Sula are four adults and two schools. All are out of danger.
Many of the suspected and confirmed cases come from schools and colleges, health authorities said.
So yesterday met a team working in the Departmental Health Region of Cortez to coordinate prevention activities.
It was attended by the deputy minister of population risk, Mirian Peace, the chief warden of Health, Mark Pinel, epidemiologists and directors of the Metropolitan Region and Departmental Health, in addition to Mario Rivas hospital authorities.
Truancy
Mark Pinel, Head of Health Surveillance, said there is concern about the outbreak of influenza A/H1N1.
"We are attracting patients from the start and taking steps to minimize the impact on the population. We ask the authorities of schools to report to us if there truancy in the case of respiratory infections, "said Pinel.
He recalled that the first case of the virus in 2009 was given in a private school girl in San Pedro Sula.
"There are indications necessary epidemiological, clinical and laboratory to conclude that this is a resurgence of the pandemic virus. We are going through difficult circumstances, but that's why we're anticipating, "said the specialist.
Two laboratories
The country has two laboratories, both are in Tegucigalpa, one is private and the other from the Ministry of Health.

According to current figures are already 2.409 cases of classic dengue hemorrhagic fever and 110 nationwide.
