Registration begins in Ecuador for vaccination against influenza A (H1N1)
The Ministry of Public Health (MSP) in Ecuador began on day 2 the registration of persons to be vaccinated against influenza A (H1N1) from next April, through the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI).

The registration campaign aims to reduce the number of infections and minimize the risk of complications and deaths from this disease, for which the Ministry identified the most vulnerable risk groups.

The MPS said in a statement that these groups include pregnant women and patients with respiratory problems, heart and metabolic diseases, immune and degenerative diseases.

According to the report on the evolution of influenza A (H1N1) published earlier this year in Ecuador were detected 2112 positive cases and 103 people have died because of this virus.

Most laboratory-confirmed cases have occurred in the Pichincha province, whose capital is Quito, with 739, followed by Guayas (west), with 437 cases.

The greatest number of deaths from influenza A also occurred in Pichincha, with 36 deaths, followed by Guayas, whose capital is Guayaquil, the country's most populous city with 16. (Xinhua)

Apply Ecuador 860,000 influenza A/H1N1 vaccines
The Ministry of Health of Ecuador (MSP) provides "vaccinate about 860,000 people" against the H1N1 influenza virus from next April, reported on 3's deputy health minister, Marcelo Aguilar.

The official told reporters this week began the registration drive who will be vaccinated under the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI-MSP).
