The contagious virus known as RSV is on the rise in Edmonton.
?We?re seeing ... typically about sixty to seventy positive lab cases each week in the Edmonton zone,? said Dr. Marcia Johnson, Edmonton?s acting medical officer of health.
Each positive result represents many more cases in the community that don't make it to the lab, she added.
RSV or Respiratory Syncytial Virus infects lungs and airways, causing fever and coughs. Babies and young children frequently get the illness, although it can effect people of all ages...
