Health authorities in Costa Rica, the first two confirmed deaths this year, the flu AH1N1, and the health minister did not rule out that these deaths are part of the beginning of the second wave would affect the country.
The Minister Maria Luisa Avila explained that the two new victims are a 25 and a girl of 12 years. Both suffered from severe multiple disabilities and were infected by a person who attended a lodge located in Alajuela.
In explanation, the official said the social worker contracted the human influenza virus, and then infected 18 patients, eight with serious ailments, eight adults and two children, who were hospitalized.
Avila explained that the girl died Friday of 12 years in the Intensive Care Unit, while Sunday night's wife died 25 years.
"The two people with multiple disabilities, cerebral palsy of long standing and very deep, unfortunately lost their lives because of this virus," he said.
With those two deaths, in Costa Rica have died from the influenza virus AH1N1, 49 people, including 47 killed since April 24, 2009, be given health alert.
