It seems to me that the translation misses one big point...(Death related to H1N1 or perhaps avian flu). He's a national heroic figure, this gentleman, Lt. Colonel John Murphy, and his body is being honored by being lain in state for the citizenry mourners to file past at the capital, Quito, in the Government Palace.
